In Sandy's Wake ...

I was all set with my entry for this month, titled "Easy as Pie," way ahead of schedule. Then Sandy hit. For those in the areas affected by Sandy, life since then has been anything but easy.

After any disaster, whether natural or man-made, there are always fingers pointing at what's wrong, which people, businesses and organizations aren't coming through for those affected. However, there are also many organizations, businesses and people who are coming through, donating food, supplies, money, skills and their time to do whatever they can to help those that need it.

So, instead of looking at how preparing for Thanksgiving (specifically making pies) is like preparing for a landscape project (there are similarities, really), click on any of the headlines below for stories of how people are working to make a difference for those in Sandy's path.

In the words so eloquently stated by W.J. Cameron, "Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action."
