The Greenwood Group, LLC in partnership with the Community Associations Institute (CAI) members donated $1,500 to the annual Toys for Tots campaign.
On September 13, 2012 at the Aberdeen Golf Club, CAI held its annual golf tournament. The Greenwood Group sponsored the 15th hole. Foursomes had the opportunity to give a $20 donation with the chance to improve their starting point for the hole. All money collected would be donated to the Toys for Tots campaign. After play was complete and prizes awarded, The Greenwood Group raised $700 for the charity. Impressed by the generosity of the participants, The Greenwood Group donated another $800, bringing the total to be donated to the Toys for Tots campaign to $1,500.
"The golf tournament sponsored by CAI this fall was a great way for us to interact with our clients," said Joan Schepis, president of The Greenwood Group. "As it turned out, it was the Toys for Tots campaign that benefited the most."
The Greenwood Group made the donation at the annual CAI holiday on December 13 to Todd Billy, president of the Heartland Chapter of CAI, and Cathy Roth-Johnson, executive director of the chapter.
"At this time of year, it's easy for all of us to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season and forget the true meaning of the season," said Schepis, "but as the current events of last week unfolded, our hearts got a little larger and our giving got a lot easier. We are going to make this an annual fundraiser for The Greenwood Group."
